The Holidays
In the holidays, my family and I done was touch training. We were training for daily competitions on Thursdays. Other than that I just went for walks with my friends and played on the computer. I was so bored in the holidays, that I couldn't wait for school to start.

Hoot
Hoot is about a young boy called Roy who Just moved to coconut cove lives a life of being bullied and while he was being bullied he saw a running boy.
Roy decided to follow this running boy called Mullet Fingers and sooner or later their sorta friends along with his step sister Beatrice Leep. Roy spots something in the news paper and having to do with building a new pancake store over some burrowing owls and its Roy's, his dads mission to try and stop them.
My favourite character was Roy because hes really smart and he figures everything out. He may not be strong, tough and mighty but he's a hero because he saves all the owls.
My least favourite character was Dana because he was the big bully and he bullied Roy alot.
My favourite part of the story was the end because they saved the burrowing owls and stopped building the pancake house over the owl burrows.
I think that the theme of the book was about survival. Roy survived through bullying, Beatrice survived through being in a violent house and most importantly the owls survived after almost being built over.
Rating: 9/10
I'm looking forward to the whole movie because it was good how the were very descriptive and set everything, so at this point there all equal.

Texting and driving
is bad
I am here to state my case, that texting and driving is bad for you. People die. Looking down at your phone while there's a baby on board, imagine i still baby not breathing, cold.
Texting while driving is one of the worst distractions. It can cause accidents, injuries and even kill. I know people need to die but not like this. It can also cause 3 major functions such as:
1-cognitive
2-manual
3-visually
Everything changes on the road, change directions, and most cars were made to react fast.
In 2011 there were 1.3 million crashes. There was about 9.8 million messages sent on the 5 of December to 110.4 billion messages sent on December 8. 385 people have died by texting and driving.
95% of people say texting and driving is a major threat to their safety. 35% of people have admitted to reading a text whilst driving in the last 30 days.
Texting while driving makes a crash up to more likely.
Dialing-28x
Talking-1.3x
Reaching or replying 1.4x at risk
We really don"t want this, to lose our family and friend. Do we? God brought us into the world because we are strong to live it, don't be weak and end like that. Make it a law.

- Cottonmouth snakes are a medium sized snake, at about four feet long to five feet long.
- They are normally a dark shade of brown or a dull black and there sides are visible.
- The younger snakes are lighter colours with more distinct patterns.
- The maximum amount of venom a cottonmouth can deliver is barely enough to kill a single person.
- The cottonmouths have two sensing pits located between the eyes and nostrils, both used to pinpoint there prey.

Kodu
Today my classroom P3 and I were trialing 'Kodu Lab'. Its a game were you could make your own game and create different things for the game.
I made a race track were you play as rovers and collect coins, hearts, stars and apples. You can scan things, take pictures and of jump. There are under water sea creatures as well as land. It was a great experience.

New Plymouth
Devon Exchange
Last week we traveled down to New Plymouth for an exchange with Devon Intermediate. Basicly its were we verse them in sports such as Netball, Rugby, Hockey, Soccer and Basketball and we'd also be billeted from a Devon student, Devon teachers or Mokoia teachers, Its not your choice.
Day one was Wednesday and we were travelling down, It was a really bumpy road we were driving on. When we arrived I was happy, We walked into their hall and sat down. Mr Avery said a speech and then we were toured around their school by our billets.
The bell rang, then we went home. My billets name was Charlie, she was really fun and we hung out with my friend Marnie and her billet Phillipa we just went to the sand Junes and then we went to the soccer fields it was so fun!
Day two we went to school and it was game time. We walked into the hall and wished each other good luck, we both walked in different directions to go to our sports team. Charlie played hockey and I played Netball. Sadly we lost Netball but with a smile. I went to cheer on Rugby with my friends Marnie, Destiny and Kyraleigh.
We played hand ball for a bit too, until i saw chocolates for sale I ditched the game and ran over too get some chocolate i bought alot! After the sport we went to the aquatic center. The hydro-slide was the best part both of them, the top one was the best it was really steep. Then we went home and Marnie, Phillipa, Charlie and I went to the mall and had a look around for an hour and a half, throughout that whole time we brought smoothies. My billet and I went home and to get ready for the disco. The Disco was so fun until the end when fire trucks arrived, we went home and i called home and went to sleep.
Day three I was bummed we had to go home, but also happy. I gave my host family a box of chocolates to say thanks and a big hug. I went into the hall and then I gave my billet the biggest hug and thank you. Devon Intermediate put on a little show before we hit the road. My billet walked me to the bus I gave her another big hug and said thank you I walked into onto the bus and gave one last wave. We were going and then watched a movie. We arrived at school and gave my dad a big hug (mum was at work) I gave all of my friends a hug, they missed me and then we went home.
My highlight was meeting my host family, getting my own room and bathroom, the sand Junes, going to the mall, going to the aquatic center, the disco and playing them in sport.
My con was the end of the disco because we spent most of the time outside and leaving New Plymouth.
I wish we could of gone out a bit more.
